Case Study
The following page will show the process in which I took to complete a project. The goal of this specific project was to create an original album cover, formed from the ideas presented in pre-existing album covers of one's choice. The albums I ultimately chose to complete this were Future's "Evol" and "The Dark Side of the Moon" produced by 70's rock group Pink Floyd, due to the unique visuals of these albums and the wide range of creative possibilities available through their respective themes.
Step 1
First an image of a skeletal hand and two backgrounds were added. These would eventually be used to convey the contrast between each section of the finished project, as is seen in the primary image of "The Dark Side of the Moon."
Step 2
Next, an image of my own hand was added.
Step 3
These photos were then rearranged to create a base for the remainder of the design.
Step 3
An image of the crown of thorns and a halo were added to the cover.
Step 4
The images added in the following step were rearranged and the final images of the album cover, a tattoo-style rose and one of the several roses from the cover of Future's Evol, were added.
Step 5
Lastly, the images added in the four previous steps were moved and edited until the final outcome was produced.
